Our Classrooms

At The Growing Place, we believe that children learn best in an environment where learning is fun. We created our educational programs with the goal of meeting the needs of each unique child emotionally, socially, and physically. We also believe it is important to accommodate the needs of our families, read more below to learn more about our classrooms and which one would best fit your child.

Two Year Old Classroom

Our toddler room is filled with no more than ten two-year old’s that love to new things. Our focus for this age group is to assist them in improving their communication and motor skills. Each day is filled with activities that will encourage development socially and emotionally, expand their minds with creative expression, and utilizing tools that will aid the growth of their cognitive skills.

Two and Three Year Old Split Classroom

Our toddler/preschool room is filled with ten to twelve two-year olds and young three-year old’s. This room was created to form a transitional space for those children that are not quite old enough to be in our three-year-old preschool program, but were ready to engage more than a fresh two year old. A main focal point for this room is learning healthy social skills and coping when problems arise. We all know that most three-year-olds believe that they are the Queen/King of all things, so learning to participate in group activities and center play with adult direction and input will prepare them well for preschool.

Three Year Old Classroom

The three-year-old preschool room is where learning and fun collide with activities that all twelve students will love. This classroom is where the seed to language and early literacy is planted! Activities that keep these youngsters busy all day and so fun that they don’t even realize they are learning. As special friendships are formed, they will begin to understand how to identify their feelings, develop a better understanding of the world we live in, use their senses to explore details all while entering the next stage of basic math concepts.

Pre-K Classroom

Our Pre-K Room is where that seed to early literacy flourishes. Not only are we creating a curriculum that aligns with Kentucky’s Early Learning Standards, but also implementing a specialized supplemental curriculum that is well proven in developing these students into young readers. With a class size of only fourteen or less, this program is a great opportunity for preschoolers to be active in math, science, social studies and physical development centers while becoming prepared for kindergarten.
